About The Chinese University of Hong Kong
Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West. CUHK teachers and students hail from all corners of the world. We have more than 5,800 staff members and some 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Of these students, about 3,000 are from 45 countries and regions outside Hong Kong. Over 110,000 graduates are connected through 90 alumni associations both within and outside Hong Kong.
Accommodations
The Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Hotel in Sha Tin is a four star, international hotel. First opened in February 2009, it is situated adjacent to the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The Hotel is conveniently located at University Station of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR), which offers direct access to Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong Island and the Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau crossings into Shenzhen.

REE delegates can make bookings directly with the Hotel at the preferential rates as follows:
- Standard room with Mountain View: HK$ 750 per room or HK$ 850 per single inclusive of Breakfast
- Standard room with Harbour View: HK$ 1,050 per room or HK$ 1,150 per single inclusive of Breakfast.

Please note the following concerning room rates:
- Room rates:
- All rates are subject to 10% service charge per room per night
- REE delegates can enjoy this preferential rates for stays 2 nights before and after the event.
- Room availability:
- Rooms with Mountain View are limited and reserved on a first-come first-serve basis. The room reservations will be accepted based on the Hotel's availability and confirmation.
- Since October is the peak session for conferences and exhibitions in Hong Kong, please make your reservations as soon as possible to secure a room. Reservations received on or after September 20, 2009 will be confirmed at the prevailing rate of the day.
- Cancellation policy:
- Any cancellations within 24 hours prior to arrival will be subject to one night's cancellation fee.
- Any no shows on the arrival day will result in the full room charges for the entire stay.

Information on Visa Application
For coming to Hong Kong
Visa requirements are different according to each country. Please check the web site of the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Chinese embassy or consulate to find out whether you need to apply for an entry visa to Hong Kong.
For participants not requiring a Entry Visa, please be reminded that your passport is valid for at least six months before the planned departure date to Hong Kong.
For access to Shenzhen
A Chinese Visa is required for all overseas passport holders for entry into, exit from, or transit through Chinese territories for visiting purposes, travel or business. Participants should make their own visa arrangements. A Chinese Visa can be obtained through the Embassy of the People's Republic of China or an overseas China Travel Service branch in your country of residence. An invitation letter may be required.

From Airport
Recommended Route: Take the Airport Express service of the MTR at the Hong Kong International Airport, change to the East Rail Line at Kowloon Tong Station, and go all the way to University Station.
From Mainland China
Recommended Route: Take the MTR from Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau station to University Station.
