Accel REE Asia 2009

The Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP) is proud to host annual international conferences for entrepreneurship educators. These conferences are called Roundtables on Entrepreneurship Education (REE). They are designed to stimulate communication and collaboration between business, science, and engineering faculty who teach high-technology entrepreneurship in universities around the world. This year REE Asia is co-hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The theme of REE Asia 2009 is Global Entrepreneurship. How can students and researchers from universities and R&D centers use their knowledge to form companies creating value in the global market place? How can universities, firms, NGOs and governments foster knowledge transfer and value creation? Hong Kong, China's leading global metropolis, and the economic model on which China's phenomenal quarter century of growth was based, together with Shenzhen, Mainland China's newest, richest, most research-intensive, manufacturing and service center form the backdrop to REE Asia 2009. Strategically located at the base of the Pearl River Delta, the twin cities with a population of over 18 million will provide a glimpse into the future of global entrepreneurship. The conference is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurship academics to interact with industry and government personnel from around the globe. REE Asia 2009 will feature simultaneious translation between English and Chinese to facilitate interaction.
